Nutrition Tip
Coconut Water– One of the most amazing and surprising
facts about coconut water is that it is identical to human blood plasma. It is more nutritious than whole milk and
contains more potassium than sports and energy drinks. It is also cooling to the body and
detoxifying. And, it tastes good. You
can purchase it in tetra boxes or cans at health food stores.

Breakfast
– it REALLY is the most important meal of the day – by Brenda
Jaeck
You’ve
heard it before – breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. Why?
- It
fuels you – it breaks the fast of the evening (from dinner or
snacks the night before). Without
fuel how can you operate? Would
you set out for a day’s drive in your car without making sure the
fuel tank was full? The same is true
of your body.
- It sets
the intention for the day. If
you take time to nourish yourself you will feel better and likely eat
better the rest of the day.
- It will
assist with weight loss. People
who do not eat breakfast are more apt to have a weight issue. Why?
Not eating for long periods of time slows down your
metabolism. Further, not eating
for long periods of time creates cravings and eating more food at the
next meal. You may also be less
diligent with your food choices due to hunger.
Having
said all of that, I know that many people have difficulty eating in the
morning – either because they are not hungry or they do not have
time. To this I say, think outside the
box. Breakfast does not have to look
like Denny’s menu. Breakfast can
be a piece of fruit and a handful of nuts, it can be leftovers from the day
before, it can be a smoothie (see recipes above) or anything else that is
available. Availability is the
key. This requires a bit of planning
ahead. Take a little time in the
evening the night before to plan breakfast for the next day.
If
you are currently not a breakfast eater trying doing so for a week and see
how different you feel. If you are
currently a breakfast eater perhaps you can experiment with different
breakfasts.

to Balance –How will you bring more balance to your life? How about a healthier, more balanced life
plan?
Are your health concerns
impeding you from living life fully? Do you want to change your relationship
with food from the inside out? Are you seeking deep seeded balance and
wellness?
I
would eagerly welcome the opportunity to work with you on a personal
level. We can work together privately
to create a customized life-long plan for you AND create the steps to
incorporate those changes into your existing routines.
Through my

by using nutrition as a focus and a tool. To do this I look at your
entire lifestyle to achieve maximum health. This is accomplished
through education and private consultations where an individualized program
is developed for you. These consultations include evaluating your
current diet and overall lifestyle and then making easily implemented,
gradual changes. Additionally, you’ll receive outside information
in the form of articles, books, tapes and recipes. Also included are
additional monthly forms of education and participation -- activities like
cooking coaching, health food store shopping hints, light exercising
functions and other activities. My practice is telephone based, allowing
for maximum flexibility and ease.
